Who needs arc flash training?

5. Line workers install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical power lines.
6. Safety managers, supervisors, and team leaders are responsible for ensuring the safety of workers in their departments or workplaces.
7. Any other workers who work on or near electrical equipment and systems that have the potential to generate an arc flash hazard, such as HVAC technicians, facility managers, and other types of industrial workers.

It’s important for employers to conduct a hazard assessment to determine which workers are exposed to the hazards of an electrical arc and ensure that those employees are adequately trained.
